Work Related Injuries (L&I)It is an unfortunate reality but no matter what line of work you are in, there is always a possibility of getting injured on the job.
If you do get injured on the job, here are a few helpful things to keep in my mind in order to help facilitate your recovery:
Let your Supervisor/someone in charge know about your injury as soon as possible. Document your injury by filing an L&I report. Your job should have paperwork for you to fill out. Also, take notes on whom, if anyone observed how you acquired your injury. Should you need immediate medical attention, L&I will pay for the first medical appointment and an ambulance, if needed. The Worker may choose their doctor. Washington injured workers benefits and responsibilities do not change if they live outside Washington State. To read more about Washington State L&I, please visit their website here. If you look closely at the picture above, you'll notice that the "ladder" is not one, but two ladders tied together! To the right is a close-up of the tie-job. In instances such as this, it's no wonder injuries occur on the job.If you're wondering if anything happened during the use of this "ladder", don't worry, everyone survived and no accident happened, this time. If in the unfortunate event that you are involved in a work related accident, we are more than capable of working with you and L&I to provide you with the best care. As a former Qualified Medical Examiner and Independent Disability Evaluator, Dr. Neil is well experienced in treating injured workers.
