Chiropractic and Massage and Work Injuries

P3 Chiropractic & Massage is here should you ever suffer an on-the-job injury. By combining conservative chiropractic care and soft tissue therapies, we are focused on returning the injured worker back to work in a safe and timely manner. During the course of your treatment, Dr. Neil will also recommend rehabilitation exercises that may help prevent future reoccurences of your injury by strengthening and stabilizing the involved areas.

"Sprains and strains, most often involving the back, accounted for 43 percent of the 1.3 million injuries and illnesses in private industry that required recuperation away from work beyond the day of the incident in 2003. When sprains and strains, bruises and contusions, cuts and lacerations, and fractures are combined, they accounted for nearly two-thirds of the cases with days away from work."1

If you suffer an on-the-job injury here are a few helpful things to keep in my mind in order to help facilitate your recovery:

- Let your Supervisor/someone in charge know about your injury as soon as possible.

- Document your injury by filing an L&I report. Your job should have paperwork for you to fill out. Also, take notes on whom, if anyone observed how you acquired your injury.

- Should you need immediate medical attention, L&I will pay for the first medical appointment and an ambulance, if needed. The Worker may choose their doctor.

- Washington injured workers benefits and responsibilities do not change if they live outside Washington State.
